Jason Stewart – Ohio

Hello my name is Jason Stewart. I had the privilege to hunt with Buck Chasers this past fall. I've never been with an outfitting unit that was more prepared for whitetails then what Chris and his staff were. The strategies of tree stand placement , studying maps, and weather were impressive. The accommodations are awesome. I'm telling you it is a real treat. With their expertise , I bagged a 148 5/8 whitetail!!!!!  Whether you a novelist or a pro , Buck Chasers outfitters will take care of your  needs!!!

My experience at Buck Chasers was a very positive one.  The lodge is top rate; a perfect place to wind down between hunts and spend time with customers and friends.  There exists the opportunity to sight in slug guns or shoot 3D archery targets, which is an added benefit to those of us not fortunate enough to live in rural areas.  The lodge is very accommodating and the home cooked meals are first rate.  Another great feature was the amount of rooms and bathrooms/showers the lodge has.

Ground blinds and stands were of high quality and Chris made sure to make safety a priority while staying at Buck Chasers.  The guides were very knowledgeable and did their best every day to put clients on deer.  You can tell Chris Bishop feels a huge amount of pride and pressure in his business as evidenced by the time and effort spent focusing on setting up clients for success.  2013 was a tough year for deer hunting, I hunted 3 spots in Illinois, one in central Nebraska and one in western Montana and had limited success; I just did not see many deer.   Buck Chasers did do a nice job putting me and my clients on deer; many hunters reported seeing deer in the 135-160 class.  Based on the quality of the hunting ground that buck chasers leases, I’d say there are others out there in excess of 170+.  I will definitely be returning to Buck Chasers this fall.

Buck Chasers was my first experience hunting with an outfitter.  The week was designed for women only and I had the time of my life!  From the minute I met Chris and the other guides I felt at ease, not knowing what to expect as I was very nervous to be out on my own hunting without my husband.  The guides were very helpful, respectful and professional.  The lodge is beautiful and well taken care of and the food was great.  There are stands and locations choices for every level of hunter and the deer population is amazing!

Starting the week out I thought I was there just to hunt, by mid week I had pushed myself physically, mentally and emotionally and realized this was more of a personal journey then just a hunt!  Buck Chasers truly is an amazing place to hunt whitetail deer as well as make lifelong friends and memories!

I became a better sports"women" because of my time at Buck Chasers and look forward to next year's Women's Only Hunt as well as bringing my family there for future hunts!

Olivia Moyer – Maryland

I decided to make Buck Chaser's my first outfitting experience. I booked a hunt for the second week of October, which they made an all women's hunt. I liked that they had arranged it so that no men were allowed to kill anything that week, it was a lot less intimidating. Everything that was told to me prior to my trip, was proven to be true when I arrived. I spent my first night getting to know the other women before quickly falling asleep in one of comfortable beds. The lodge was nicely decorated, and very comfortable and convenient in every way. The food prepared every night was nothing less than amazing. The guides helped answer all of my questions and even offered to walk me to my stand if I didn't feel comfortable. While there I saw two shooter bucks on different nights, way bigger than what we have back in Maryland. I also saw numerous other bucks, and saw a ton of deer throughout the week. I was unable to get a comfortable shot on the deer that I wanted. I ended my experience with lots of new friends, and a ton of awesome memories. I loved it so much that I returned for a couple days late season & have already booked for next year! I will forever be coming back to Buck Chaser's, and am positive that no there outfitter will spoil their clients like they do. They are exactly who they say they are! Thank you for all of the memories, I absolutely had the time of my life.

Jenkins Mann – Columbia, SC

I hunted Buck Chasers in early October 2013 with my brother, my uncle, my nephew and a couple of friends. I grew up hunting, and at first I was reluctant to go to Buck Chasers because the only other outfitter hunt I’ve ever been on wasn’t really my thing – basically a cattle call with inexperienced hunters, overhunted property, and poor guides. But, from the minute arrived, Buck Chasers could not have been a better or more different experience.

Chris manages roughly 7,000 acres, has extremely knowledgeable guides, and only allows approximately 10 hunters per trip to hunt the property. As others have commented, they are obsessed with wind direction, stand placement and rotating hunter placement so they don’t over-pressure the deer. The results are self-evident. On the morning of my first hunt, I killed the biggest deer I’ve ever killed. That same morning, another in our group killed the biggest deer he’s ever killed.

They treated us like friends and competent hunters from the minute we got there. The food, accommodations, and hunting were all better than I could have possibly expected. I plan on going back for years to come.

Buck Chasers is a place that any hunter should consider if they are looking to harvest a quality Midwest whitetail buck. I saw numerous deer every sitting and harvested a nice mature deer with a bow even in early Oct. The outfitter has a variety of stands/blinds spread across the large properties, to accommodate all hunt styles and weather conditions. It also was nice to have home-cooked meals each night.

The Staff at Buck Chasers were amazing, they treated us like family from the minute we walked through the door. We had never been to an Outfitter and didn't know what to expect. But let me tell you one thing we had a blast. I was really impressed with the stand placement and the knowledge of both Jamie and Chris on the deer in the area. What they do is a year round job and it shows in the big bucks and deer that I seen that week. They study the weather to make sure the wind is just right for the stand you will be hunting from. I took my largest buck to date on my hunt and it was my first buck bow kill. I've already booked my next hunt and can't wait to put a big boy down again.

I wanted to take a minute and tell you what a great hunting trip I had this year at Buck chasers. As you know I hunted there during the archery season and also during first gun season. Both were awesome and successful hunts. Not only is the hunting and quality of deer amazing, the lodge and accommodations are equally awesome. I really appreciate how much effort and concentration you put into making sure that your hunters have the very best opportunity to harvest a mature Whitetail Deer. Everything from stand placement, entrance and exit strategies and food plots are very well planned and deliberate. Not only did I enjoy hunting at Buck chasers but I feel that I learned a lot about Whitetail hunting and behavior and can honestly say I left a better and more knowledgeable hunter.

Thanks, I can't wait for this season. See you then.

Marc Anthony – Outdoor Writer and Professional Hunter

Having hunted much of Illinois for many decades on my own and being an outdoor writer, I decided to write a review on Buck Chasers in the Fall of 2013. I’ve always turned down requests from outfitters simply because I enjoy the thrill of a DIY hunt. Before accepting an invitation by Chris, I wanted to be sure I was going to be able to scout the premises on my own. A week before I was scheduled to stay at Buck Chasers, I studied the area via satellite imagery in addition to making the drive out and physically scouting the area. Chris manages 7000 acres of prime west-central Illinois ground, which much of it adjoins. That’s a very important piece of the puzzle that other outfitters haven’t been able to capture. In the 4 days I hunted with Buck Chasers, I am happy to say my hunt was a dream. I choose not to shoot any bucks but they were available. The quantity of deer was unbelievable and the staff was very accommodating and knowledgeable. I opted to be dropped off all day but when I came back to camp for the evening, there was an awesome meal ready and I was already looking forward to the next day.  Nobody works harder and has the vast expansion of whitetail habitat than Buck Chasers. I had no special treatment and everyone who hunts with Chris and his staff can expect the same. I’m already looking forward to coming back!
